At What Age Do Children Grow Out of Their Cribs?

On many occasions, I have talked about how short/small my kids are.  To put things in perspective, this is where I found Maile, a second grader, sleeping the other night.
There's something really wrong with that.

Anyway, I need advice from you church-going people with children who hate going to church.  Maybe I'm the only one out there, but yesterday I went to wake up Maile, and the first thing out of Maile's mouth was

Maile: I'm not going.
Me: Well, what do you think you're going to do today?
Maile: I was thinking I would watch TV or draw.  Maybe I'll do a little reading.

She says this all casually like she has a choice in the matter. Anyone have tips for dealing with unruly children?

  1. I just say, when you're 12 you can stay home from church alone but until then you just have to come with us. It's good to have a tasty sweet after church negotiating tool available too. ; )
