Budding Philanthropist

So we were shopping, and we passed one of those big containers that you can put coins in and donate money.  They make it look all fun for kids because the coins go down this track that twists and cyclones down to the bottom.  Anyway, Maile saw it and insisted we give her money.

Maile:  Dad, Dad!  You have to give me money.
Grant: I don't have any change on me.
Maile: But it's for the Ronald McDonald House!
Grant: That doesn't mean I have any coins to give you.
Maile: But it's for the Ronald McDonald House!  Do you know what the Ronald McDonald House is?
Grant: Do you?
Maile: Yes.  The Ronald McDonald House collects all the money, and then they give it to all the useless people.

Holy schnikeys!  Useless people?!  If you created a parenthood fail blog, it would basically be my blog right here.  Trust me, neither one of us has ever told her that's what the Ronald McDonald House is.  And yet, my child continues to find ways to make us look bad.
