While I was Gone . . .

I was in Phoenix for a conference, and here's what I like about that place: the weather was in the 80's.
Utah is cold.  Cold.  Cold.  Anyway, despite being away from the kids, Grant kept me informed of all the antics of our quirky kids.

1)  Maile [upon seeing Grant, who has just gotten his haircut]:  Wow Dad, that's one weird haircut.

2) Kea [in a cheerful voice, after Grant has asked her how much homework she has]:  I'm almost done, Dad.  Really, I don't have much left.  Although sometimes, I don't really remember how much homework I have.  And this is one of those times.

3) Maile: Dad, the car really gets lower when you sit in it.

4) Text from Kea:  Dear Mom, I finally learned how to play songs on the guitar.  I am exited [sic]!  Do you think I'm going to get more than $200 this Christmas? Love, Kea

And my absolute favorite.......

5) Maile: Dad, I just finished all my invitations.
    Grant:  Invitations?  For what?
    Maile: My funeral.

It's kind of surprising how much Maile's like me.
