Happy 2012 . . . or Yay it's the End-of-the-World Year!

New Year's Resolutions:

1) Start blogging and writing again
2) Start reading other people's  blogs and  books again
3) Lose weight, cliche I know.
4) Not get pregnant.

So I know, I know . . .  it's been awhile.  A long while.  So here's what happened.  I had a baby--a surprise baby, as in "I didn't know I could even get pregnant" kind of baby.  Thus, resolution #4.

If you know me well, you know that my pregnancies are high risk, so as soon as I found out I was pregnant, my doctor said I could no longer go to work.  You would think this would be wonderful and that I could get a lot of reading and writing done, but no.  That's not the case when I get pregnant.  Basically I am a vegetable until I get sick enough that my bun in the oven arrives about a month early.

How did the kids take the news?
Kea: Okay, no offense Mom, but you are OLD.  Really, really old.  So we're going to try not to get our hopes up too much.

Maile: I don't think the little guy is going to make it.  But if he does, I just hope he's not a murderer.

So here's our new little one, Lillian Aukele Kimiko, aka Lily.  As you can see, she's an exact clone of her older sisters.
Anyway, while I resolve to  blog again, I can't promise that I will be blogging regularly, but I will at least have a presence in the blogging world again.  Happy New Year y'all!

  1. No. Way.

I had to reread it twice to make sure I had it right.

    Crazy.

And so so fun. Can't wait to read all
    About it. Congratulations.

  6. I'm so glad to see you're back. I love reading your blog. I was quite shocked when I saw pictures of baby Lily on Facebook... I didn't think you were supposed to have any more kids... now that explains the absence from blogging. Do you still live in Oquirrh Park? Did you get your job back at the school? So many questions. I hope all is well!!!

  7. Jessica - I, too, had to read the pregnancy results twice. Definitely crazy.

Whitney - It's probably too early to say I didn't give birth to a murderer, but we can always hope.

Brighton - Yes, this pregnancy took us all by surprise.

Naomi - Thanks! Happy to be back.

Karen - It's ridiculous how little I see you even though we live so close.

Anisa - I didn't think I was supposed to have any kids either. Still in the same neighborhood, and not working. I'm going to see how long I can handle the stay-at-home mom thing.
